God is Love. As I learn more about God, I learn more about love.  The Bible gives us much insight into what love is as it is The Word Of God. I know the media is trying to tell you that love is how sex feels with someone you barely know, or love is your provoked feelings and emotions. But those are lies. " Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Many people think they're in love but it is provoked. The scripture says love is not provoked. But feelings, emotions, sex, can be provoked. For example, your mother may take your phone away and it provokes you to feel upset. But that doesn't change your love for her. Another common thing is to say people fall in love. It is not the phrase I take issue with, rather using it to justify wrong doing. Love doesn't rejoice in iniquity, the Bible says. So if you are using Love to excuse fornication or homosexuality then maybe you are just in lust. For example, if you stole money from a parent, they would still tell you that was wrong even though they love you. Because love rejoices in the truth. Love isn't falling in a pit where you are helpless and can't control what you are doing. Also, love is not selfish, so if someone wants sex for you to prove your love, they probably don't love you themselves. A way you can show your love is by what you do. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Many people show their love differently. Some give gifts, some write letters, some are very affectionate, like me. So just because someone doesn't show you love the way you want it, doesn't mean they don't love you.  But you can start incorporating what the other person wants into how you show your love. I especially recommend you do this if you are married. Not that you should throw away how you show your love, but you can also be considerate of the other persons needs. Love is selfless. Jesus has the highest form of love. He says this, "Greater love hath no man than this, that He would lay down His life for His friends." If you want to know what it truly means to be loved. And to be loved with a perfect love, you need to accept what Jesus did for you. He died on the cross. "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16. Amen. Accept Jesus into your life today. He says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with me." Revelation 3:20. Jesus knocks, will you answer?
